HBCU Heroes: Week 4 standouts who caught the eye of the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl

Ryan Stanley, Chris Rowland and Taeyler Porter were just three of the guys who dominated this week for HBCU colleges.

Dawonya Tucker – PVAMU – RB –   The little back from Terrell, Texas tore it up this week for the Panthers.  He finished the game with 22 carries, a 128 yards on the ground.  Add in his two scores and while his team could not pull off the win against Alcorn State it was really impressive.  Good Job Dawonya!

Jalen Morton – PVAMU – QB – Yes, two PVAMU players in a row, because Morton was special this week too. He threw the ball 35 times and finished the game with four touchdown passes.  Alcorn State was able to get the win over the Panthers, but it was not because of Morton.  Morton finished the game with 321 yards passing on 35 attempts completing 23 of his passes.

Taeyler Porter – UAPB – RB – Can Immokalee, Florida please stand up?  The back from Southwest Florida had a monster game this week.  I am a big fan of Taeyler because I remember going to his high school games.  He finished the day with 18 carries for 107 yards and two rushing touchdowns.  UAPB has two solid running backs, that I feel are NFL caliber.  This week Porter looked great, keep it up!

Chris Rowland – WR – Tennessee State – I made it very clear last week.  When someone stops him I will stop putting him on my lists.  He has not been stopped once all year, and quite frankly I am not sure you will find a team that can shut him down. I do not care about size, because this kid has turned into an all around star.  he finished with 13 receptions and 154 yards and one more touchdown. He now has 667 yards and 5 touchdowns on the season. One more time, if you do not like reading about him, STOP HIM. If not welcome to the list Chris for the fourth week in a row!

Manasseh Bailey, WR, Morgan State – Two weeks in a row? Yep, Another big time playmaker is trying to make a name for himself.  Manasseh Bailey is a speedster with great hands.  The Capitol Heights, Maryland native likes making our list because he went out and did it again. He finished with 6 receptions for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns this week.

Ryan Stanley – QB – FAMU – FAMU has a QB and get this he can sling it.  Ryan Stanley blew up this week for the Rattlers, throwing for 355 yards and two touchdowns, as Florida A&M rallied late to pick up the win.  I like this kid and at 6030, 210 pounds I think the NFL will like him too.  Great game Ryan!
