As an athlete, what is your motivation?
My mother. She’s a hard-working woman who makes all kinds of sacrifices for me and my siblings and that motivates me to another level.
What defines success for you?
I 100% believe the following is true about success: “Success is really nothing more than the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. This means that any person who knows what they are doing and where they are going is a success. Any person with a goal towards which they are working is a successful person.” -Earl Nightingale
What would your teammates say about the type of teammate you are?
My teammates would say that I am the type of teammate that I am a hard working, no shortcuts leader that makes everyone around better. A very humble guy.
What are some of your personal “rules” that you never break?
Every morning, I make my bed and listen to gospel music.
Who is the toughest player you’ve competed against during your collegiate career?
Terry Whittington. Terry gives me hell in practice.
Who is the best player in the NFL?
The best player in the NFL is Russell Wilson. He’s also the highest paid player in the league so that speaks for itself.
What is your team of choice on Madden, why?
Kansas City Chiefs but with the Cleveland Browns new additions, I may have to reconsider for Madden 20.
Failure is inevitable in life. How do you handle situations that don’t go in your favor?
I know that what God has for me is for me. Prayer helps me to handle and understand situations that might not be for me even if it’s something I wanted.
Is there a current/former NFL player that you model your game after?
Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray.
Knowing what you do now, what would you go back and tell yourself as a High-School Freshman?
I would say get rid of self-doubt and to be super confident in yourself because you have no idea what’s out there for you.
What is your go-to restaurant near campus?
Simply To Go for breakfast and Patton’s for dinner.
If your life was a book, what would its title be?
“Diamond In The Rough.”
What song or artist do you like but rarely admit to liking?
Cardi B.
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
Zendaya. She’s been my crush since the early Disney Channel days.
Forty-years from now, what do you want to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered for being a 1st class guy and as someone that persevered through everything.
