Coming from the JUCO level (Northwest Mississippi CC), what has the transition been like to SEC football?

The transition has been pretty smooth. Prior to LSU, I had already played on the big stage at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium for the championship while I was at NWCC so I was comfortable with playing in front of a large audience.

During your recruitment process, what separated LSU from potential suitors?

I think that the most influential factor was the coaching and the sense of community that the team has.

As an athlete, what is your motivation?

My biggest motivation is Jesus Christ (God) and my family.

Failure is inevitable in life. How do you handle situations that don’t go in your favor?

I put those situations behind me and keep moving.

Is there a current/former NFL player that you model your game after?

Honestly, I don’t model my game after anyone. I watch Tyron Smith, Greg Robinson, and Cam Robinson, etc. but I don’t model my game after them. I try to take their moves and add them to my toolbox because we have the same skillset in some ways.

Knowing what you do now, what would you go back and tell yourself as a High-School Freshman?

Coming from a place where we don’t have much, I would have told myself not to stress the small things. There will be a day I’ll get to shine, I just have to be patient and wait for my turn.
