Second player from Florida Gators National Championship team in 2007 charged with murder

Tony Joiner the former Gators defensive back has been charged for Murder, which makes him the second player on the 2007 National Championship team to be charged with murder.

The Florida Gators National Championship team was led by Tim Tebow, one of the most religious players to ever play, and to be honest with you, maybe the reason he is playing baseball instead of football. Tebow had tons of media attention because of the national coverage of his faith. Now, a second player from the 2007 National Championship team has been arrested and charged with murder.

First, it was Aaron Hernandez and now it is former captain Tony Joiner.

A former star defensive back for the University of Florida football team was arrested and charged with murder on Saturday.

Tony Joiner, whose full name is Earl Antonio Joiner, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder on Saturday in Lake Wales, Florida, for the 2016 killing of Heyzel Obando, according to Fort Myers, Florida Police.

“Fort Myers Police Detectives made an arrest in the three-year-old murder case of Heyzel Obando on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at approximately 10:30 a.m. in Lakes Wales, Florida. FMPD working with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake Wales Police Department arrested Earl Antonio Joiner (date of birth 12/8/1985) and charged him with second-degree murder,” the authorities said in a statement. “Fort Myers Police worked closely on this case with the Oxygen Television series Cold Justice and the Office of the State Attorney. Heyzel Obando body was discovered in her Crestwood Avenue apartment on February 14th three years ago. The arrest of Joiner was the culmination of a multi-agency effort which dedicated itself to the investigation.”

This is crazy, please keep the family of the victim in your prayers.
