Peyton Manning is not interested in being the Jets GM?
If the New York Jets were hoping to land Peyton Manning as their next General Manager, they may have to go back to the drawing board. According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, a source close to Peyton Manning said “Manning becoming the Jets GM is “unrealistic”, and being an NFL GM is “not a job he seems to want.”
This is not the first person to say Manning will not be a GM for the Jets. His teammate and close friend Reggie Wayne said Manning is not going to be a GM.
“General Manager? Absolutely not, You think Peyton Manning would give an owner an opportunity to fire him, or have a head coach back stab him and throw shade and get him fired?”
“What I do see him doing is being an owner. I see him being an owner somewhere down the line. That’s more a Peyton Manning move.”
The Jets are losing people left and right. First Peyton Manning, and then Daniel Jeremiah said in his podcast that he has not even been contacted by the Jets. There were reports from Adam Schefter of ESPN, that said Jeremiah was being thought of for the position.
While the Jets are taking their sweet time to find a replacement for Mike Maccagnan, Adam Gase keeps making moves. Today he signed WR Deonte Thompson, yesterday he cut TE Jordan Leggett who Maccagnan drafted in the fifth round and get this he fired Jets scout Bill Dekraker on Tuesday. Gase said he wanted to focus on being the Jets head coach but he sure is liking this GM role he has.
