Frank Reich and Jim Kelly were best of friends. Shoot they were the two that made the four years to the Super Bowl possible for the Buffalo Bills, and while they did not win one they still remain best of friends.
Well, today Frank Reich known best for his amazing comeback win over the Houston Oilers, help his former friend out by signing his nephew. Chad Kelly, was one of the best quarterback prospects coming out of college, but he found a way to stay in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Chad was drafted by one of Jim’s friends John Elway but it did not work out well for the Broncos and Kelly. Kelly broke into a house as he was intoxicated and sat on a ladies couch. Kelly was released quickly, but after sitting out of football for a year, he was finally given another opportunity.
Jim began helping his nephew, guiding him along his workouts. Chad landed a workout with the Colts but was not signed after the mini camp invite. Kelly today however was signed by the Colts and will join the quarterback race to attempt to make a roster in Indy. Chad joins Jacoby Brissett and Phillip Walker to try to at least earn a roster spot. This is a great gesture by Frank Reich and an even blessing for Chad. This maybe his last opportunity to make it.
