Texas HS football player shot and killed by Uncle; Teammates dedicating Championship run to him
Drew Conley the safety of Marshall High School in Texas was shot and killed by his Uncle. The 17 year old Conley was fatally shot by his Uncle after exchanging threats during an argument. Conley had only lived with his aunt and uncle for one month and the family wanted him to leave according to reports.
The Uncle claims he feared for his life and that is why he shot his nephew in the leg. He was taking to the hospital by his girlfriend where he was pronounced dead.
While Drew will be looking on from above his teammates are trying to win it all for their teammate. Korey King the Buffs wide out said “As a team we kind of just lean on each other, He was not only a teammate but also a brother”. King continued saying “A lot of things we’re doing now is for Drew. He has never been this far, so we got to do it for him.”
Marshall will face the Callahan Wildcats in San Antonio on Friday Night. Both teams will wear a #3 decal on their helmets for the semifinals match-up.
