We already have the XFL and the AAF kicking off in the next couple years and now you can add another league to the mix. Ricky Williams the former NFL running back has started a league backed with other NFL players called the FFL or Freedom Football League.
Freedom Football League investors include former Pro Bowlers including Terrell Owens, Ricky Williams, Simeon Rice and Jeff Garcia, among others.
“The Freedom Football League is the perfect integration of my passion for social justice, economic equality and health and wellness, with my life-long dedication and love for professional football,” Williams said in a statement.Additionally, players will receive “permanent and reliable holistic health and wellness support on and off the field” and will be encouraged to “address society’s challenges relating to social justice, wealth disparity, health and wellness and more hot-button issues they are passionate about.”
The FFL will feature the San Diego Warriors, Connecticut Underground, Oklahoma City Power, Portland Progress, Texas Revolution, Ohio Players, Florida Strong, Birmingham Kings, St. Louis Independence and Oakland Panthers.
