Chiefs QB was told by baseball star Alex Rodriguez “There is no future in football”
Patrick Mahomes grew up around baseball players being that his father played in the Majors for many years. Mahomes one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League right now was given some advice from a young Alex Rodriguez when he played with the Texas Rangers per Rodriguez himself. Rodriguez told Omnisport, that he once told Patrick Mahomes the NFL’s leading passing that there is no future in football for him, and that he needed to play baseball.
Via Sporting News:
“I said, ‘Now listen to me, if you don’t hear one thing that I ever tell you, you better listen to this’,” Rodriguez recounted to Omnisport.
“‘There is no money, there is no future, there is no history in football. You have to play baseball!’
“Well, he reminded me of that recently and, boy, am I glad he did not listen to me!”
Pretty insane after watching last night’s game. I am glad Mahomes picked football as well because he is a damn good quarterback.
