Who is your Role Model and Why?

I wouldn’t say he was my role model growing up, but, Marlon Winn has been my role model since meeting him while I was in High School.  He is a former Texas Tech standout and pro player.  Winn shows me how commitment, hard work, and persistence will pay off in all areas of life.  He is a great teacher and motivator. Winn is also loyal and devoted to his current and former players.

Who was your favorite teacher?

Dr. Stephanie Shellenberger.  She was very supportive during my college studies as well as my football career.

Did you play sports growing up? 

Basketball and Baseball

Who was the toughest player you ever faced? 

Jacob Tuioti-Mariner while I was at the NFLPA collegiate bowl game.

Who is the most underrated player on your team?

Daniel Ramos III.  

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL, who would it be and why?

Trent Williams because of the way he uses his athletic ability and the way he plays in space.

What is the biggest obstacle in your life that you had to overcome? How did you overcome it? 

It would have to be my season-ending injury going into my junior year of college. It was a hard and long process to get back on the football field again but I was lucky to have great friends and family to help me get through the hard times.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

Sit in my locker and listen to music while visualizing the team being successful.

What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?

My Junior year, we ran a screenplay that allowed me to run 40+ yards and provided a block for our running back to score.  

What is the coolest thing you ever did off the field for someone?

Oklahoma is known for severe weather.  My team had the opportunity to go and help with the tornado cleanup in Moore, Oklahoma.  It was a great feeling to help the people affected by these storms.
