Who is your role model, and why?
My role model would be my mom. She definitely instilled a level of discipline in me that will allow me to reach all of my goals in life. I love you Ma!
Who was your favorite teacher?
My favorite teacher was my high school Literature teacher Mr. John Canney. He had a way of making books come to life. I really enjoyed his class.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
I played baseball from about five years old to thirteen years old. I played basketball from eighth to tenth grade. I was never really great at either.
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
The toughest player I ever faced was Melvin Gordon back when he was at Wisconsin.
Who is the most underrated player on your team?
The most underrated player on our team is our strong safety, Jake Thieneman.
What is the one song that would fire you up before the biggest game of your life?
The one song I would listen to before the game of my life is “Look At Me” by UGK.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
I would compare myself to Cliff Avril. He is a Purdue guy and he plays with a high motor.
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest obstacle I had to face was growing up without my father being physically present in the house with me, my mother and sisters, but I would bet that we are still as close as any other family.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I like to go out and warm up alone with some music playing. I like to get a good sweat in before team warm ups.
What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?
The most memorable play of my college career was recovering the on-sides kick against Indiana University in Ross-Ade Stadium to get to my first and only bowl game of my college career (we won the bowl game).
What is the coolest thing you ever did off the field for someone else?
One time some teammates and I did some yard work for a teacher whose husband was in hospice. We mowed her yard, cleared the shrubs and raked leaves. I think that is pretty cool.
Who was your favorite NFL team growing up?
I really liked the Atlanta Falcons growing up. I still do.
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?
I would eat dinner with Huey P. Newton, Malcolm X, and Adolf Hitler.
