Steelers LB James Harrison said his quote about sitting for National Anthem was bogus
Steelers LB James Harrison was making media when a quote came out after Colin Kaepernick kneeled the first time last year, and it has been floating around since. The people who were against Kaepernick kneeling were pumped to quote Harrison, but after speaking with MMQB, Harrison set the record straight. Harrison told MMQB how he would feel if his teammates did sit or kneel for the National Anthem.
“That’s up to the individual … if they feel like that’s something they want to do, that’s their right.”
There were reports Harrison said, “Anyone on my team sits for the anthem, they better be in a wheelchair.”
That was false though. It sounds like Harrison wanted to set the record straight. While Harrison is a talker, he claimed he never said that.
