The Ivy League will eliminate full contact hitting and tackling in practice
Eight Ivy League football coaches voted unanimously last week to eliminate all full-contact hitting and tackling from practice during the regular season, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
This is an extreme measure that could end up becoming he norm in football. The Ivy League is a pretty bright league and this may actually help the players long term. It will be less contact that their body is going through, but will it stop concussions?
That is what we will see. Someone had to start it to see what works. Pretty soon this could be the new way teams practice.
