Could the Patriots go out and sign three really veteran wide outs to make one last push?

Roddy White could help Tom Brady and the Patriots

The New England Patriots still have  team that can get to the Super Bowl, but they will need help around Tom Brady.  Last year the wide outs for Brady were poor, and three wide outs were already released this season. The Patriots released Brandon Gibson, Brandon Lafell and Brian Tyms.  Brady has been playing with Scott Chandler and Rob Gronkowski as his star wide outs and the Patriots just released Chandler. So here is my question.

Would the Patriots go out and sign three veteran wide receivers to make one last push in Tom Brady’s career?  Right now the best wide outs on the Patriots are Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. The only problem is both are banged up all the time.  So could the Patriots bring in a few players that are hoping to make a Championship run to help push the Patriots over the hump?

Think about this….

The Patriots add Anquan Boldin, Andre Johnson and Roddy White.  All the players are 34 and 35 years old, but all want to make a run.

Roddy White stats

2015 Atlanta Falcons 16 16 43 506 11.8 25 1 6 0 27

Anquan Boldin

2015 San Francisco 49ers 14 13 69 789 11.4 51 4 10 1 35

Andre Johnson

2015 Indianapolis Colts 16 14 41 503 12.3 35 4 7 0 31

Now let’s look at how the Patriots wide outs did outside of Edelman, Amendola and Gronkowski.  If you look at the numbers all three of the old guys could make the Patriots better.  If you add it a Matt Forte to help the Patriots, they could easily be a Championship team.

Receiving Statistics
Player Rec Yds Yds/Rec Long TD
Rob Gronkowski 72 1176 16.3 76 11
