Niners right tackle Anthony Davis, who has repeatedly said on social media he’ll return in 2016, will apply for reinstatement to play in the NFL this season, ESPN reported.
On Wednesday, general manager Trent Baalke said he’d spoken with Davis, but declined to discuss his situation until he applied for reinstatement.
Davis, 26, abruptly left the team in June, citing a need to let his “brain and body heal” after he was limited to seven games in an injured plagued 2014 season in which he sustained a concussion.
