Last time DJ Swearinger was cut 8 teams put in waiver claims

DJ Swearinger has tons of interest and it sounds like the Buccaneers will claim him
DJ Swearinger had tons of interest the last time he was cut, will there be that much interest this time?

DJ Swearinger was released yesterday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is the second time this year Swearinger was released. The first time he was released was by the Houston Texans who spent a draft pick on him in 2013.

Swearinger was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at South Carolina.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, 8 teams placed a waiver claim on DJ Swearinger when he was released by the Texans.  The Buccaneers had the number one claim and they were able to snag the former second round pick.

If those same teams were to place a claim today, the Ravens would be the team that ends up with the hard hitting safety.  The Ravens are currently 2-7 and could use any additional help on their defense they can get. Swearinger might be a perfect signing for them.  He did play at a major university in South Carolina and was projected to be a stud at the next level. Things just haven’t worked out well for him.
