Jacksonville Jaguars add DE Quanterus Smith to their practice squad
The Jacksonville Jaguars filled an open spot on their practice squad on Monday with the addition of former Denver Broncos defensive end Quanterus Smith.
A three-year veteran, Smith appeared in 15 games for the Denver Broncos last season, making 11 tackles in a reserve role. He was released by Broncos after a failing a physical in April. Smith was also recently released by the New York Jets after signing with the practice squad.
Smith was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of The Year for his outstanding breakout season in which he recorded 38 Tackles, Career High 12.5 Sacks, one pass deflecion, one fumble recovery in which returned 75 yards for a touchdown and 3 Forced fumbles. He finished college with a total of 135 Tackles, 24 Sacks, 3 Pass Deflections and 5 Forced fumbles.
Jacksonville had a spot to fill on the practice squad with last week’s promotion of safety Craig Loston the active roster.
