Report: Eli Manning and the Giants could have a deal done before Sunday
Eli Manning and the New York Giants are hoping to get a contract done before the start of the season, and it sounds like that might become a reality.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the two sides are making “significant progress” in their negotiations on an extension that would keep Manning on the team well beyond the 2015 season. Per Rapoport, there’s “confidence” that it will get done before the Giants and Cowboys kick off their regular seasons on Sunday night.
According to the report, Manning does not want to go into the regular season worrying about his contract. I would not be surprised to see the contract done soon.
