Several offensive playmakers that could be dealt before roster cuts

Montee Ball could be a guy that is shipped out for a draft pick before roster cuts

Montee Ball could be a guy that is shipped out for a draft pick before roster cuts

Roster cuts are less than a week away, and within a four day period there could be many trades.  There are some teams with tons of depth at certain positions, while other teams are struggling to find a starter.  On September 1st, NFL teams are expected to cut their rosters down to 75 players, and a few days later, the rosters will be cut down to 53 players.

Here are a few players that we could see get dealt before those dates.

Quarterbacks

Matt Barkley is the guy that comes to mind.  He might get released, and right now it is down to Barkley and Tim Tebow.  I really do not feel that Chip Kelly will let Tebow go, so at this point I am saying the odd man out is Barkley.  Barkley has been on the trade block, and there are some teams that could use a decent back up.

Other QB’s

  • Matt McGloin – QB – Raiders
  • Colt McCoy – QB – Redskins
  • Charlie Whitehurst – QB – Titans
  • Ryan Griffin – QB – Saints
  • Logan Thomas – QB – Cardinals

Running Back

Montee Ball is a guy that could be dealt. Ball has fallen to third on the depth chart, and right now the Dallas Cowboys do not even have a true starter. Another team to look at is the Houston Texans who lost Arian Foster.  Ball is a legitimate player who could be a great option for a team. I would definitely trade for Ball.

Other RB’s

  • Bryce Brown- RB – Buffalo Bills
  • Storm Johnson – RB – Jacksonville Jaguars
  • George Winn – RB – Detroit Lions

Wide Receiver

Jared Abbrederis was a highly rated wide out when he was drafted, but he has been getting outworked by small school wide receiver Jeff Janis.  The Packers could be looking for a veteran right now like Reggie Wayne, and if that is the case, Abbrederis or Janis could be on the trade block.

Other WR’s

  • Deonte Thompson – WR – Buffalo Bills
  • Greg Salas – WR – Detroit Lions

Tight End

Chase Coffman has been impressive playing for the Titans. He may be hard to cut, and he is torching teams. Last night he scored twice, and there are teams right now that are desperate for a tight end that can catch and block. Coffman can do both.

  • Timothy Wright – TE – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
