Jason Pierre-Paul is progressing well; Could be ready week 1 against Cowboys
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media Insiders, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul’s rehab is “progressing very well.” It has been about a month and a half since the fireworks incident on July 4 weekend that led to an eventual index finger amputation.
He’s still expected to show up at the Giants facility prior to the start of the regular season, but whether he’ll be in uniform Week 1 against the Cowboys or whether it takes a few weeks to round into form is still up in the air.
This is a awesome news for the New York Giants and their fan base. JPP played college football for the University of South Florida and was picked by the Giants in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. The New York Giants placed the franchise tag on Pierre-Paul, so he will be paid as a top 5 player at his position for the upcoming season, regardless.
