New York Giants should look to sign Jake Long to a one year deal
The New York Giants need a left tackle after Will Beatty was injured lifting weights and they could use a veteran like Jake Long. According to Tom Rock of Newsday he will undergo surgery that will sideline him for five months.
That means Beatty is in line to miss at least the first half of the 2015 season, which will likely leave this year’s first-round pick (Ereck Flowers) or 2013 first-rounder Justin Pugh as the top two candidates to protect Eli Manning’s blindside.
Pugh has already said he would be willing to move inside, which would make sense for the Giants. The team can play Pugh at guard, put Flowers at tackle and pick up Jake Long. This would solidify their offensive line.
