Dallas Cowboys need Adrian Peterson, they have enough cap space too
The Dallas Cowboys need Adrian Peterson, and Adrian Peterson needs the Dallas Cowboys. If the Cowboys want to make it to the Super Bowl again, they will need to make a run at Adrian Peterson. While many feel that the Cowboys will be fine if they draft a young running back, I disagree. Imagine Peterson, the best running back in the NFL, running behind the best offensive line in the NFL?
If DeMarco Murray was able to run for 1800 yards, could Peterson eclipse 2000 again? I think so, but Pro Football Talk said it best when Tony Romo restructured his deal.
Cowboys create $12.8M in cap space. Adrian Peterson’s base salary is $12.75M. #justsayin

With the Cowboys already signing Greg Hardy they could end up with the best off-season of any team if they can somehow land Adrian Peterson.
Here is my scenario, if the NFL does reinstate him tomorrow, I could see this trade happening.
Dallas sends their second round pick in 2015, and a 3rd in 2016 to the Vikings in exchange for Adrian Peterson and a 5th round pick in 2015.
The Vikings would add an additional 2nd round pick this year and a 3rd in next years draft to add a top 100 player.
The Cowboys would add the best running back in the NFL to run behind their amazing offensive line and still have a first round pick this year to address their secondary. If the Cowboys do this, I am willing to put their name on the paper for my early Super Bowl favorites…..
