If the Browns lose this week they need to start Johnny Manziel

manzielThe Cleveland Browns have been very solid this season, but over the weekend head coach Mike Pettine made a comment saying he contemplated playing Johnny Manziel.  That was enough to get the media going and excited.  Well if Brian Hoyer does not perform this week against the hungry Oakland Raiders, I would expect the Browns to pull the string on the former Michigan State quarterback. With Brian Hoyer coming off his worst game as a Cleveland Brown, the public drumbeat for Johnny Manziel is growing louder, but coach Mike Pettine is marching to his own beat.

“Brian is still firmly our starter,” said Pettine, still admittedly feeling the sting of Sunday’s 24-6 loss to the previously winless Jaguars.  “Nothing’s changed. Each week we make the decision as to if we want to include Johnny in the plan.”

I feel that if the Raiders pull off a win this week the Browns will pull Hoyer. It is the right move, because the Raiders have not won a game yet. This could be a trap game, because the Raiders team has been playing way better.

Hoyer did not look good, he was hurrying his throws against the aggressive front, dropped his worst career game on Jaguars, completing a career-low 39% of his attempts (16 of 41) for 215 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. He earned a career-low 46.3 rating and slipped to 6-3 as a Brown.

If the Browns lose this week, back to back losses to teams with zero wins, it is time to pull the plug, do you agree?
