Nix is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery. The No. 83 overall pick of the 2014 NFL draft is expected to compete for the team’s starting nose tackle position in a revamped two-gap, 3-4 defense. Veteran Jerrell Powe started last Saturday at Arizona.
