The New York Jets stole Dakota Dozier when they selected him in the fourth round, and it might turn out to be their best selection.
On Wednesday the Jets lost a key starter. Jets coach Rex Ryan announced that guard Willie Colon will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee after suffering an injury during a workout.
“Safe to say, it’s going to be a while,” Ryan said.
Colon was a 16-game starter in his first season in New York last season. He stayed with the Jets on a one-year, $2 million deal in March.
Dakota Dozier will compete with former Michigan defensive tackle converted O-Lineman Will Campbell.
Dozier was a dominate force for Furman last year and could come in and open gaping holes for CJ2K. I am loving this fit.
