Source: QB Kory Faulkner was almost the surprise draft pick of the 2014 Draft
According to a source, new 49ers QB Kory Faulkner was very nearly drafted late by the team. The St. Louis Rams were also high on Faulkner during the pre-draft process, and the 49ers reportedly became “nervous” they might lose Faulkner to the division rival Rams. But when the Rams made SMU QB Garrett Gilbert their 6th round choice, it all but locked up Faulkner being a free agent. And prevented what would have surely been one of the more talked-about picks of the draft.
