New York Giants could look at three free agent running backs to lead the charge
According to Giants blogger Dan Graziano, New York could be looking at three running backs who they will likely choose one or two of to come in and be their new tandem in 2014. Ben Tate, Donald Brown and Rashad Jennings all appear to be options, but the Giants won’t overpay to get them.
Donald Brown is one of the free-agent running backs who’d make sense for the Giants, who are undoubtedly looking for at least one. Ben Tate of the Texans is the big one about whom everyone asks, but he’s likely to cost more than they want to pay for a running back. … They won’t be after a home-run hitter.
Donald Brown makes the most sense, because he consistently produces but has been behind a player for years. I think Brown could come to New York and run behind a guy like John Conner and put up Pro Bowl like numbers. Brown has been a very underrated player since entering the NFL from Michigan, and he might love the opportunity to come to a team and be the #1 back.
