The Minnesota Vikings are closing in on hiring offensive coordinator Norv Turner, according to ESPN. Besides Turner, Kyle Shanahan and Mike Mularkey are candidates for the job. Turner was the offensive coordinator last season for the Cleveland Browns after being fired as head coach of the San Diego Chargers after the 2012 season. He has an overall head-coaching record of 114-122-1 with three teams.
In Minnesota, Turner would inherit a quarterback issue and the 23rd-ranked passing offense. They will also hire George Edwards the Dolphins LB coach as their Defensive Coordinator.
