Redskins quarterback RG3 says another dumb thing to the media
The Washington Redskins should not pick up the option on Robert Griffin III, and after today’s comments he should be traded. The Redskins have until May 3rd to exercise their option on Griffin’s contract for the 2016 season. Doing so would put them on the hook for around $16 million for a quarterback whose rookie year remains the best of his three NFL seasons. Well when RG3 was asked about the option, his response made him seem like he didn’t care at all.
“I wouldn’t be bummed,” Griffin said. “Either way, we’re going out there to prove it this upcoming year — not next year. I just want to win. I want to win games and have fun doing it. The rest will take care of itself. They can pick up the option — or they can decide not to pick up the option. It’ll work out either way. I’m focused on this year.”
For someone that many NFL scouts called an intelligent man, he answer questions in the dumbest way possible. Now teams are going to question his willingness to compete, and win. This is not a good look for the Redskins or RG3. Everyone should be upset if they are not making what they worked for, so to say this could be the final straw for the Skins.
