Who is your role model, and why?

My role model is my father.  He has taught me everything I know about life and most of what I know about football. He has instilled in me the qualities that make me the man I am today.

Who was your favorite teacher?

I have a couple different teachers who I share a mutual love for. Dr. Cassandra Donaldson-Warner from FAMU. She was a teacher who would constantly remind me to maintain focus and whenever I had a problem not only in class but in life, she was there as a mentor for me as well as others. Dr. Brenda Flyswithhawks was another one of my cherished teachers who rode me hard because she foresaw the potential in me and made sure I fulfilled everything I am today. Lastly, Mrs. Connie Daniels, my fourth-grade teacher who took me in as one of her own while on school grounds. She was hard on me, but like others saw my potential and helped mold me into the man I am today.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

As a kid, I grew up playing baseball, basketball, tennis, and football. I competed in football in baseball into my collegiate career.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Braxton Berrios from UM. Played two times in high school in the 2nd round of the playoffs. He was always all over the field making a play. A great athlete who I look forward to competing against at the next level.

What is the one song that would fire you up before the biggest game of your life?

Temptation – Joey Bada$$

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

If I could compare my play to any player in the NFL it would have to be Jacoby Brissett. I love how he plays the game, he is a true pocket passer but also has the athleticism to make plays on his feet.  I think QB’s who know how to maneuver in the pocket and deliver are valued, but when that same guy can hurt a defense with his legs 4/5 times a game he creates an issue for defensive coordinators.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

My biggest obstacle thus far has been my collegiate career at FAMU. It served as a testament to faith and dedication. I stayed true to myself, kept working hard, and am now benefitting from the work I put in.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I pray, pray, and pray some more. Call my parents and talk to them before the game to ease my mind, watch a quick Russell Wilson highlight and I’m ready to go.

What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?

My debut vs the University of Arkansas where I threw my first Division 1 touchdown, which happened to be the first time FAMU scored vs. an FBS opponent in 4 years.

What is the coolest thing you ever did off the field for someone else?

Pen palling with a fan from the Arkansas game who I gave my towel to. His grandmother got in contact with me via a letter to my head coach.  Attached was a letter explaining how much of an impact it made on him and a picture of him wearing the towel in his youth football game.
