Victor Cruz wants Hakeem Nicks back, but didn’t act like that last year demanding money
Last year it was not about Hakeem Nicks, it was about the undrafted free agent from UMass. Cruz fired his agent, made a big scene about getting paid 9 million a year, and ended up taking extremely less. Well this year after being double teamed by defenders because of Nicks’ inability to get open, Cruz is lobbying for the Giants to re-sign him.
At a fundraising ball for New Jersey children with cancer and blood disorders Wednesday, Cruz admitted that he wants his partner in crime to stay for another season. Nicks, who is set to hit free agency, has the potential to set the market price at the wide receiver position and will likely be too expensive for the Giants to retain.
“I have (asked him to stay),” Cruz said. “Selfishly, I would love for him to stay.”
I think Cruz should have thought about that last year when his contract was up. If Cruz really wants Hakeem back, he would restructure his contract to keep Nicks and himself together. Do you think that will happen? HECK NO….
