Trey Evans

5’9 210

What is your position?

Linebacker/Safety

Where do you play college football?

Catawba College

Where are you from?

Barnesville, Georgia

Who is your role model, and why?

My parents. They’ve taught and shown me by example what hard work and a will to be successful will do for you. Many life lessons that I’ll carry with me and can only say I’m blessed to have.

Who was your favorite teacher?

Tanjain Liang. My most challenging classes but one of greatest mentors I’ve had.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Basketball, Track & Field

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Lawrence Pittman, Devontae Jackson, Joe Hillin

Who is the most underrated player on your team?

Kenyatta Green won’t be underrated that much longer. Definitely a “Just give him the ball” type of talent.

What is the one song that would fire you up before the biggest game of your life?

Eminem- Lose Yourself

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Deion Jones. Patience with play diagnosis, quick downhill instincts, just having a nose for the ball, sideline to sideline speed. Can cover ground and pretty good with making plays on the ball in pass coverage whether in man or zone.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Dislocating my right knee my sophomore year of college during camp. It was a tough phase coming from having a decent freshman season. It bothered me a bit through the entire next season after the first surgery. I had a 2nd in the spring of 2016 which actually fixed my problem. I did a lot of therapy and rehab on my own for my knee honestly, I knew what it took and I wanted to get better. Just staying committed as well as keeping great support system helped me overcome it. Being dedicated to getting my knee back to 100 percent allowed me to get them stronger today than ever before.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

Praying, walking and stretching on the field while listening to music, and a few sessions on the punching bag in the weight room if it was a home game.

What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?

A 38 yard pick six my freshman year in 2013. I broke 3 tackles and had to dive in the end zone from about the 4 to secure the TD and to tie a big game against the University of North Greenville. I landed with the ball under my chest and it knocked the wind out of me so I won’t forget that one.

What is the coolest thing you ever did off the field for someone else?

Teaching a group of children with different learning disabilities. Adaptive PE basically. One of my kids had Intrinsic Minus Hand (Claw Hand) and I helped him see different ways he could hold a baseball bat as well as showed him how to swing. He was a natural and turned out to be one of the best hitters in his class.

Who was your favorite NFL team growing up?

The Falcons.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

My Aunt Frankie, Michael Jackson, and Muhammad Ali
