The Vikings can beat the Redskins tonight, but will need to win two phases

When you look at the game tonight you automatically want to chose the Redskins to win.  Well let me explain something that you might want to keep in mind before you make your selection.

In any game you can win if you are able to beat your opponents in two phases of the football game.  The Redskins have been horrible all year long with special teams. Redskins will have their hands full trying to contain one of the NFL’s most dangerous kickoff returners.

Rookie Cordarelle Patterson is having a heck of a season returning kicks, as his 36.7 yards per return average indicates. He’s also returned two kicks for touchdowns, including a 109-yard NFL record-tying scamper to the end zone against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.

The Redskins defense has been allowing a ton of yards to offenses as well.  They allow 299 passing yard per game, and also allow 116.6 yards a game on the ground.  I think if the Vikings can get good field position on the kick off’s they can infiltrate the Redskins defense.  If they can stay somewhat consistent they can beat the Redskins.  That is over 400 yards a game on average, and you are facing the best running back in the NFL.
