Victim of Raiders CB Sean Smith was in critical condition after assault

We learned this morning that Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Smith was arrested for an assault that occurred back on July 4th.  The Raiders cornerback Sean Smith allegedly beat his sister’s boyfriend so badly, the guy was hospitalized in critical condition with multiple broken bones in his face.

Law enforcement told TMZ Sports, when officers arrived to the scene they found an unconscious male on the streets of Pasadena.  When help arrived they found him bloody and beaten on the sidewalk. TMZ is reporting the man had multiple facial fractures.

Prosecutors say Smith, 30, beat his sister’s boyfriend and then stomped on the man’s head near the corner of Arroyo Parkway and Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California, on July 4.

The alleged incident occurred during the Raiders’ six-week break between minicamp and training camp.

Defense attorney Daniel Rosenberg told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that Smith “maintains his innocence” and that he will plead not guilty.

“The plan,” Rosenberg said, “is to fight the charge all the way through.”
