Report: Former Buccaneers CB Alterraun Verner showed up to Jags workout out of shape
Alterraun Verner signed a four-year, $26 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014, and was released a few months ago. The 28 year old cornerback still does not have a home which is a bit surprising, but he is not in shape per Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.
Verner worked out with the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, and it sounds like he was out of shape.
“He was a little out of shape,” a source told O’Halloran. “Word is they will do a do-over.”
Verner, who made the Pro Bowl in 2013 and has 15 interceptions in 110 career games, could add veteran depth to Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye, but he will have to get in shape first.
