Raiders’ stadium in Vegas has been approved
The Oakland Raiders stadium in Las Vegas has been approved according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The vote was a unanimous vote and while it may not happen until 2020, the Raiders will have a new stadium to play.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Stadium Authority approved the lease by a unanimous 9-0 vote. This sets into motion the lease agreement being sent to the NFL for full approval during October’s owners meeting.
The NFL approved relocation of the Raiders from Oakland to Las Vegas earlier this year. And ground will soon break on the new $1.9 billion venue which is expected to be just off the strip. In fact, the Raiders just recently purchased the land where it will be built on, according to SportsNaut.com
I know people are upset with the Raiders moving to Vegas, but this could be great for the city of Oakland if they win a Super Bowl there first.
