NFL Draft, NFL Trade Rumors, Scouting Reports & More

Oh Deion Belue and your agent; Are you glad you screwed one team over now?

The day after the NFL Draft, Deion Belue was one of the first players the Buffalo Bills contacted in regards to a priority free agent deal.  The team was pumped up to contact his agent and land a deal with the former Alabama cornerback.  Well, after agreeing in principle with the Buffalo Bills, his agent decided to have a change of heart. His agent contacted the Bills and told him they have agreed to a contract instead with the Miami Dolphins.

While many NFL agents would probably love to make this move, it is not looked at as a very smart move.  Some teams think it is unethical, and some others feel it is a very bad career decision.  Well, the agent I am sure was hoping the deal worked out well, but guess that it didn’t.

On the last day of rookie mini camp, the Dolphins waived defensive back Deion Belue and offensive linemen David Hurd and Michael Ola, the club said Sunday.

Belue and Hurd are undrafted free agents who signed with the club on May 12. Belue (5-11, 182) played at Alabama, while Hurd (6-6, 308) is an Arkansas product. Ola (6-3, 278) most recently played for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.

By waiving Belue, Hurd and Ola, the Dolphins have opened up three roster spots. The club currently has 87 players, according to the Dolphins’ online roster.

One thing is for sure, the Buffalo Bills use to want Deion Belue, but after the incident that the agent pulled, I doubt they will be interested.  So this just goes to show you, don’t burn a bridge.  Good luck finding a job Mr. Belue.
