Oakland Raiders sign a pair of former Buffalo Bills draft picks to future deals

Today the Oakland Raiders signed a pair of former Buffalo Bills draft picks.  One was 3rd round quarterback Trent Edwards, who showed quite a bit of promise when he was drafted in 2007.  After a few bad years, Edwards bounced around team to team.  The Raiders also signed Torrell Troup, who was a second round pick for the Bills a few years back.  The Raiders are obviously hoping for these two guys to pan out.

We are finding out as well that David Carter the defensive lineman was also signed to a future contract.

Raiders signed QB Trent Edwards, DL David Carter and DT Torell Troup to reserve/future contracts.

The signing says as much about the state of Edwards’ career as it does the Raiders’ roster. Released by the Bears in training camp, Edwards has attempted just two passes over the past three seasons.
