The NFL is projected to raise the salary cap to 130 million
The NFL is projected to raise its salary cap to about $130 million, up about 5 percent from $123 million last year, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday. It was projected to be 126.3 million previously. That additional couple million dollars will help teams like Detroit how are now at 123.5 million. It will allow them to sign their entire draft class.
The $130 million figure is even higher than teams are expecting or had been preparing for and will be welcome news for teams, especially ones like the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints that are cap-strapped.
This could be good news for teams like Buffalo Bills who have Jairus Byrd who is demanding more money.
