What is your name?

Timothy Callian

What is your Height/Weight?

6’4”/ 180 lbs

What is your position?

Punter and Kicker

Where do you play college football?

Eastern New Mexico University

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

Football has been an avenue for me to do many cool things off the field, but the coolest thing I got to do off the field is travel to Catalina Island off the coast of California and help set up a Christian camp, called Campus By The Sea, for their summer elementary, middle, high school, and college kids camps. Many people give their life to God during their time there or find Christ. It is the greatest thing to me to know that I may have been a small part in that.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Sociological and Psychological Aspects of Sports

Where are you from?

Irvine, California

Who is your role model, and why?

My Parents are my role models because they have worked extremely hard their whole life to provide for five children and make sure we did well in school, encouraged and coached me and my siblings in athletics, all the while working and putting food on the table, shelter over our heads, and clothes on our backs. I could not be more thankful for them, I would not be where I am today without them.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Yes, Soccer, Baseball, and Tae Kwon Do

Did you play any other positions in football?

Played a little quarterback, safety, and wide receiver in high school.

At your position, what separates you from others?

I can do all three kicks, Kickoff, Punt, and Field Goals.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I look for my form and fundamentals. I look for my drop and if it was in the correct position, I look at my feet and make sure they are short and compact, and I also look for my follow through.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Marquez Clark (Atlanta, Falcons) when I played in the Heart of Texas bowl in Junior college, he was leading NJCAA in receiving and second in kick returns.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Johnny Hekker, punter for the St. Louis Rams. I have a long frame that helps me get leverage on the ball similar to Johnny. When I was first learning how to punt I was actually taught by Johnny and Mike McCabe during a summer training session in Prattville, Alabama with One On One Kicking. I do not know if he knows how much he helped me and I am extremely thankful for his time he took out of his training to help me.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle I faced in life was going to college and getting my degrees through athletic scholarships so my parents would not have to find money to pay for it. I have been blessed to not have faced obstacles that I would not wish for anyone, and my parents have given me an upbringing that is more than I could have ever hoped for.

timothyDo you have any pre-game rituals?

I lay down flat on my back and listen to classical music.

What is your biggest strength?

My biggest strength is my long legs for leverage and hang-time. I would also say being able to kickoff, kick field goals, and punt is a big advantage for me.

What is your biggest weakness?

My weakness is that I am a perfectionist; I will not stop doing drills or punt drops until I get it exactly right at least 50 times in a row. I do the same when learning how to play a different sport, like tennis for example; I won’t stop until I am fairly good at it.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I am a hard worker who has attained an AA, BS, and am half way through my MS degree. I can also kick field goals, punt, and kickoff. I will do everything I can to be my absolute best I can be for their team.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

Green Bay Packers

Robin Williams, Walt Disney, and Benjamin Franklin
