NFL Draft Diamonds and our staff have been bringing our readers Prospect Interviews over the past 2 years and this year we mixed up the questions and added some fun questions for our readers. We have tons of NFL staff that read our interviews, and we actually received several of the questions from NFL scouts we speak too. This gives them a little bit more information regarding your character. We hope to bring you more than 300 interviews of NFL Draft Prospects this season. You will be able to track them all on the front page of our website in the banner.

What is your name?

Larsten Hanson

What is your Height/Weight?

6’7″ 307

What is your position?

Offensive Tackle

Where do you play college football?

Sacramento State

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

I enjoy giving food and clean clothes to the homeless. I also find extreme happiness and satisfaction connecting with mentally challenged youth in a program called best buddies.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

My senior seminar In Organizational Communication. Throughout the course I wrote close to 100 pages. The class was extremely challenging and exceptionally rewarding.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Bermuda Dunes, California and went to Palm Desert High School

Who is your role model, and why?

My father is my role model, he has paved the path of success for me in not only athletics and academics, but also in faith.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

I was actually too big to play tackle football when I was younger so I grew up swimming and playing water polo. In High School I played basketball, football, and I also swam. The first year ever playing football as a freshman in high school I was called up to varsity for the CIF playoffs.

Did you play any other positions in football?

I played Defensive End and Nose Guard in high school depending on the game plan and field position. I also played tight end.

At your position, what separates you from others?

My level of athleticism is something that not many offensive tackles have, my ability to run and move with quickness is something that I have been able to harness and use this my advantage. I also practice and play with a great level of competitiveness.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I study my opponents with great detail, I try to find flaws in their technique and what works most effectively with them in the past. While watching film on myself I grade myself on three things, technique (get off, footwork, pad level, and hat placement), assignment (making sure I know exactly what my assignment is in different formations), and finish.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

It is either Zack Wagenmann from Montana or James Cowser from Southern Utah

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

I’ve been watching Nate Solder since he played at Colorado. We have the same frame and he plays with great athleticism and speed. I’ve been studying his style of play for years and I’ve been trying to apply what I learn from him to improve my play on the O-Line

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle I had to overcome was the transition of living with my parents to living on my own in college. There were many distractions during my first year and many people who didn’t believe in me. I was persistent on earning a starting spot on the team and I achieved that by believing in myself, hard work, and an incredible position coach.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I like to take a ten minute hot bath and get a deep stretch in before getting taped. After getting changed into my uniform I like to listen to music and clear my mind and focus on the game plan. I run through different situations over and over in my head and visualize myself executing different techniques on different plays. After about thirty minutes of mental reps I clear my mind again and then it’s go time.

What is your biggest strength?

My biggest strengths are the quickness of my hands and feet. Also my level of athleticism I’ve been blessed with.

larstonWhat is your biggest weakness?

I can improve on my pad level and my physicality

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

If your looking for a player with great work ethic and leadership skills I’m your man. I’m out to prove everyone who doubted me wrong and you will find that I am a humble athlete with great character

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

My favorite player of all time is Ed McCaffrey and I was raised a fan of the Denver Broncos.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

Ed McCaffrey, Leonardo Da Vinci, Leif Erikson

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

I would like to travel the world with my family
