My name is Brent Spikes

What is your Height/Weight? 

I’m 5’11” 206lbs

What is your position? 

I play the safety

Where do you play college football? 

Mcneese State University

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field? 

The coolest thing I have ever done is come to a kids birthday party and see the smile on his face was amazing.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

The hardest class I have ever taken is is finance.

Where are you from? 

I’m from Newton Texas small town kid.

Who is your role model, and why? 

My role model is my dad a real hard working man and made sure his family had everything they needed always put his family first and I wanna be like that.

Did you play any other sports growing up? 

I played basketball and ran track growing up.

Did you play any other positions in football? 

I played running back and linebacker in high school and safety

At your position, what separates you from others? 

What separates me from other safety I’m very physical and strong I’m smart about the game understand plays and route combination I can play in the box or high safety and can cover the slot receiver.

mcneeseWhen you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

When breaking down film I look for tendency on what they like to do from the quarterback checks to the alignment of the receivers is a key part of what I do when watching film.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced? 

I really don’t know the toughest player I have ever played.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why? 

I really don’t know who I can compare myself to I’m just a student of the game and just study different players in my position

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it? 

The fact that my coaches didn’t think I would be a good player and I had to work even hard and once I got my little opportunity I showed them how good I really am.

Do you have any pre-game rituals? 

I have no pre-game rituals

What is your biggest strength? 

My biggest strengths have to be my smarts and knowledge of the game my size and speed

What is your biggest weakness? 

My weakness is my hips are a little stiff.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say? 

I would simply say I can be a great attribute to the team I’m a great special teams guy and I learn fast and know how to make those split second decisions I’m the type of guy that will do anything the team needs me to do in order for us to win I’m a very unselfish person and I know that I represent a organization and will carry myself in a professional way at all times.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose? 

My grandmother and grandfather, and my high school coach and tell them about all the things I have accomplished and thank them for helping me the good man I am today.

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

I don’t think I will buy anything big.
