NFL Draft Diamonds Prospect Analysis: Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan
NFL Prospect Analysis: Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan
Maurice Hurst is an extremely disruptive up-field three-technique who will definitely have an impact at the next level. His initial quickness is uncanny and swats away early punch attempts which creates balance advantages immediately. Hurst comes off of the ball lightning quick and has an elusive twist game, this makes it tough for offensive lineman to handle. He also makes plays well beyond his gap thanks to his light feet and elusiveness. Hurst will only play for teams that run a 4-3 up-field defensive scheme. Big maulers can give him some problems in the trenches but his quick and powerful hands will certainly help him create separation. He has the ability to be a prominent pass rusher, once he is in the backfield he wreaks havoc. Maurice Hurst will most likely be drafted within the first 2 rounds, if he is paired with the right defensive coordinator he will be extremely tough to handle.
