Could Mike Pettine already be on his way out in Cleveland?

In the Browns statement announcing the ouster of CEO Joe Banner and G.M. Mike Lombardi, owner Jimmy Haslam said of Farmer: “He embraces his partnership with Mike Pettine, which is critical in helping build the right team”, but could this turn sour quick in Cleveland?

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, new Browns GM Ray Farmer “wasn’t in” coach Mike Pettine’s interview, and Pettine “wasn’t (Farmer’s) choice.”

Of course, embracing someone you’re not personally invested in changes the working dynamic considerably.

Ray Farmer says he will be on the same page with Pettine:

“Moving forward, I would like to tell everyone that the plan is focused on the connective part of it all, making sure Mike Pettine and I are completely on the same page,” he said on “Cleveland Browns Daily, Driven by Liberty Ford.”

The Browns are turning into the laughing stock of the NFL, but one thing is for sure, I guarantee the Browns will have a top 10 defense in 2014, and if that doesn’t win Ray Farmer over, then Mike Pettine is not the choice for the Browns.

It is looking like Mike Pettine should have stayed in Buffalo more and more, but he will hopefully get to add at least one year of being a head coach to his resume.
