As white supremacists walked with torches, Marshawn Lynch sits during National Anthem
Yesterday, while America continues to be blinded by flowers and butterflies, white supremacists walked in Charlottesville, Virginia carrying torches. There were nazi flags, rebel flags and many other flags being flown high above the University of Virginia’s campus. Then a car with an idiotic, brainwashed kid drove into a crowd, hitting and killing a female and injurying handfuls of others. What did we learn about this march? We learned that the Police were there protecting the streets that these idiots walked. We learned that this peaceful protest ended with people dying. It is a shame that people are okay with these actions.
We want to sit here an make it sound like we are treating others the same, but if you do not have the right skin color you are not the same. We in America let 4mm or less of skin on your body determine whether or not you are treated fairly. WOW, I thought the days of racism were over, but I would be lying if I said I believed that.
Last night, Marshawn Lynch took the field for the first time, this time in a Raiders uniform. Lynch has never really complied with NFL rules very well, but last night he made me proud. While Colin Kaepernick is out on an island because he did stick up for the rights of others, barely anyone else was on board with him. Malcolm Jenkins put his fist in the air, but last night Marshawn Lynch sat. He would not get up during the National Anthem. This is the big player that can change the mood of everyone around him. I think if Marshawn Lynch was to join the motion, others will comply. People are not talking about this right now, but this was a great act in my opinion.
This is not saying that Lynch does not support our troops, this is saying that the Flag that is claiming the land of the free, is not representing what it should be. Because right now in America, there are groups of races that are not free from racism, and being treated fairly. I hope we as a nation can change the way we think because it is pathetic.
