Marquette King is turning into a fan favorite in Oakland
When Shane Lechler left this off season not many fans were happy. Many Raiders fans were upset, because even though they love Marquette King’s strong leg, they were not sure if he could be consistent.
Although it hasn’t been perfected, King’s punts have been effective. He’s averaging 42 net yards per punt – which ranks No. 7 in the league – which is particularly impressive.
The coaching staff loves Marquette because of his attitude, the guy just won’t quit. He is trying to get better at everything, including timing amd holding, but you can see his improvements from last year.
“I feel like I can do better,” King said. “I feel like better performances are coming because I’m getting comfortable and I’m getting more comfortable with what I’m doing.”
I know what Marquette is capable of, I remember scouting him at Fort Valley State. He was one of my first Diamond’s in the Rough players and he has truly been impressive. Keep it up big man, you are gaining fans by the minute.
