NFL Scouting Combine Notes on LB’s

Ohio State Jerome Baker: 4.53 Benched 22 reps

Baker did alright in the Linebacker drills, Didn’t explode during the drills and didn’t look very fluid with his hips

Wahsington Keishawn Bierria: 4.79 Benched 21 reps.

Bierria is another one that did okay. Didn’t hurt himself but didn’t quite really help himself as well.

Vanderbilt Oren Burks: 4.59 Benched 18 reps

Burks ran good for him but he to do better when shuffling side to side. His pro day i’m sure he will look better

Georgia Lorenzo Carter: 4.50 Benched 34 reps

Carter had a very good day. On the bench and in the 40 he shined. And in the drills he did better than what I was thinking he would do.

Indiana Chris Covington: 4.78 Benched 23 reps

Covington Was slightly above average, Did nothing out of the ordinary

North Dakota State Nick DeLuca: 4.85 Benched 18 reps

With DeLuca you get a hard worker that is well conditioned. Even from a small school you could see the heart and that he belonged with the Division One schools.

Wisconsin Garret Dooley: 4.80 Benched 21 reps

Dooley ran a slow 40, As well has he looked a little stiff in the hips.

Virginia Tech Tremaine Edmunds:  4.54 Benched 19 reps

Only 19 years old, Crazy part is his size and speed is amazing. You can really see him getting better as the combine workout was going on.

Boston College Harold Landry: 4.64 Benched 24 reps

Landry had one of the best days. Quick, Fluid hips, And quick and smooth feet.

Central Florida Shaquem Griffin: 4.38 Benched 20 reps

Griffin was the big show of the combine. Running the fastest 40 for a LB in the combine and even catching the ball in the drills. Griffin had one of the most impressive days at the combine for a linebacker.

Louisville James hearns 4.89 Benched 22 reps

Of all the linebackers at the combine this year, James Hearns was the slowest, running a 4.89.

Auburn Jeff Holland 4.79 Benched DNP

The 249-pounder ran just a 4.79, and he didn’t do any of the other workouts. Even after losing weight to try and run faster. It didn’t look like it worked.

Western Kentucky Joel Iyiegbuniwe: 4.60 Benched 19 reps

Looked a little off in some drills, But didn’t have a bad day.

Jacksonville State Darius Jackson: 4.87 Benched 21 reps

His stock remains the same.

Wisconsin Leon Jacobs: 4.48 Benched 26 reps

Showed that he is fast and will be able to run sideline to sideline.

Texas Malik jefferson 4.52 Benched 27 reps

Jefferson was great Sunday Showed quick feet and quick movement in the drills . Teams had concerns about Jackson’s passion for football.

Iowa Josey Jewell: 4.82 Benched 18 reps

Jewell had a solid day on the field. Hitting the bag hard and showed good hand strength.

Stanford Peter Kalambaye: 4.57 Benched 19 reps

Isn’t to strong, But didn’t have a bad day during drills. Had a little trouble keeping his eyes up and not down.

Virginia Micah Kiser: 4.66 Benched DNP

Kiser is a leader, And will get players lined up correctly.

Michigan Mike McCray: 4.76 Benched 16 reps

Wasn’t to fast in the drills. And dropped a couple balls.

North Carolina Skai Moore: 4.73 Benched DNP

Moore delivered in some drills, In others not as well.

USC Uchenna Nwosu: 4.65 Benched 20

Nwosu is interesting and based on his drills he’ll be able to either play OLB, DE, Or ILB

Clemson Dorian O’Daniel: 4.61 Benched 21 reps

O’Daniel was awesome in the drills, looking very fluid. He should be a day-two pick.

Oklahoma Ogbonnia Okoronkwo: 4.77 Benched 27 reps

Okoronkwo was a little slow not just in the 40 but in the drills as well. Didn’t have great feet and below average hip movement

Florida State Jacob Bugh: 4.65 Benched DNP

Day 3 draft pick unless he can wow on his pro day.

Arizona State Christian Sam: 4.75 Benched 28 reps

He’ll be a day 3 pick. But nothing more.

Indiana Tegray Scales: 4.77 Benched 27 reps

Had a pretty good day, But hopefully impresses more on his pro day

North Carolina Andre Smith: 4.63 Benched 19 reps ( Pulled up holding his right hamstring so didn’t do any of the drills )

Georgia Roquan Smith: 4.51 Benched DNP

Saving Bench for his pro day

Florida State Matthew Thomas: 4.58 Benched DNP

Thomas had an elite day all through out.

Rutgers Kemoko Turay: 4.65 Benched DNP (Raw)

Looks pretty good, But he is very raw and will need time to develop

Boise State Leighton Vander Esch:  4.65 Benched 20 reps

Washington Azeem Victor: 4.72 Benched 19 reps

Victor had an okay day, He needed to keep his eyes up when shuffling through the bags.

BYU Fred Warner: 4.64 Benched 21 reps

had a tremendous workout Sunday, thriving in the drills and posting some excellent numbers

OSU  Chris Worley: 4.86 Benched 15 reps

Slow, not very fluid, But his game is more based on being dependable.
