Tennessee State University

Where are you from? 

Hays, Kansas

Who is your role model, and why? 

My Dad, he taught me how to be a man. How to do everything right and how to take responsibility. Valuing yourself at the same time as tending to others.

Who was your favorite teacher?

Dan Balman

Did you play any other sports growing up? 

I tried to participate in any sport that I could. But I played football, soccer, basketball and golf in high school.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced? 

Not sure, the toughest guy I played with in high school is Preston Weigel. He wrestles at Oklahoma State.

Who is the most underrated player on your team?

Laquarius Cook

What is the one song that would fire you up before the biggest game of your life? 

Still Cold by Night Lovell

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why? 

Hard to compare kickers, but I would say Kai Forbath. We both have the same body frame so I think our kicking mechanics would be relatively close.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it? 

Moving 12 hours from home for college not knowing anyone at all. 

Do you have any pre-game rituals? 

Before walking onto the field for warmup, I’ll wet my face, neck, and head.

What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?

Setting two school records in the same game my junior year. Hit a 54 yard field goal to set the longest field goal in school history, then later that game hit a 57 yard field goal to break my own record.

What is the coolest thing you ever did off the field for someone else?

I took two of my team mates from Florida to Kansas for Fourth of July.

Who was your favorite NFL team growing up? 

Being from Kansas, I enjoyed watching the Chiefs.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose? 

My Godfather Aaron Sander, Pat Mcafee, and Kevin Hart
