LaMichael James has requested to be released; Niners grant his wish
Today the San Francisco 49ers granted the release of former Oregon running back LaMichael James. James believes he can be a starter in the NFL, and will probably get claimed via the waiver wire, but what a way to do it. According to his agent he was released today.

This is a boneheaded move in my opinion. He will get to play for another team, but I bet the team that claims him will not play him either.
