Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

This past spring, I was given the opportunity to speak to some inner city kids about how important receiving an education is and how it relates to sports and building a foundation for a better life.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Chemistry

Where are you from?

Queens, NY

Who is your role model, and why?

My mother is my role model, she past away this January and she made every single game of my college career although she was dying in the process. She taught me how to put others over myself, how to work hard and to never stop working toward my dreams no matter what other says.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Basketball, track & field

Did you play any other positions in football?

Running back, safety and offensive line in pop warner

At your position, what separates you from others?

What separates me from others at my position is my ability to play east to west, play my technique at a consistent level, play off blocks and finish plays.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

Down and distance which allows me to see what plays/formation are being ran at different situation in the game, how offensive guards move on pulls and whether they are aggressive or not, offensive tackles to see how hard they pass set and can I bring a counter, running backs style of running the ball and route combination.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Dan Andrews SUNY Brockport

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Karl Joseph because we are the same height and play with the same bark and bite.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I Look to the sky and tell my mom get her popcorn ready.

As a small school football player what obstacles do you feel you have to overcome?

People feel like we don’t play against high level competition, the game speed is slower.

What is your biggest strength?

The ability to make tackles in space and in the hole.

What is your biggest weakness?

Height so the critics

jwilsonIf I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

 I’m Humble and hungry a tackling machine that is not looking for a handout but I’m looking for a chance to show you that I can be a player that will buy into the mission statement of your organization and make plays on a consistent level. I live for special teams and I understand the importance of playing a role. Give me a chance and I promise you that I will exceed every expectation you set 10/10.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

Atlanta Falcons / Jamal Anderson

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

MLK Jr, President Obama, Muhammad Ali

With your first NFL paycheck what would you buy?

A new place for my nephew to live so he wouldn’t have to grow up in the environment I did.
